This is the Alpine 70+10. This competes with $300 + packs. The pack is fully adjustable from extra short to extra tall. There is a very comfortable lumbar support and an adjustable hip belt support. The entire area which comes in contact with your back is a breathable mesh, so you don’t get miserably sweaty. There are many compression straps and external straps to secure just about everything; sleeping bag, tent, bear canister, etc. There is even an external holder for an ice axe. This model has a built-in hydration system. The top of the pack is fully detachable and has straps to be used as a large fanny pack. A portion of this huge pack unzips to become a regular day pack for your daily excursions from your base camp. Also, like all High Peak packs, there is an easy access compartment at the bottom which holds a rain cover/poncho for both the pack and the carrier. The cubic internal capacity is 5,000 - 6,000 cubic inches, and the weight is only 6.05 pounds !
